  One star — only because zero isn’t an option. Rang the place and was met with a level of rudeness that could win awards. The man on the phone refused to speak English on principle — not out of politeness, mind you, but with the kind of attitude you’d expect from someone mistaking arrogance for identity. Dutch wasn’t even his native language, but he clung to it like a flag — apparently allergic to the sound of English. Frankly, if that’s how staff treat people over the phone, I wouldn’t trust them with a glass of water, let alone food or drink. If you’re an English speaker — or value basic decency — best to give this place a wide berth. There are pubs and cafés where hospitality still means something. This isn’t one of them.

  The music is not always heaving but if your down for some guilty pleasures, then if there is a good party on Facebook you might consider going. EDIT: I whent back here to watch Ajax play in the semi final (not really in to soccer but what the heck), my Friend knocked over my beer and the staff gave me a new beer! Super nice +1 star

  Our cities oldest building houses the VVV tourist office and underneath it in the basement is one of the nicest bars in town. Live music in the form of DJ's is a standard here. Prepare to pay a small entrance fee here, usually 3 to 5 Euro's. Normally the place is packed on Thursdays for students night and in the weekends.

  Literally "underground" place. I love it. The house parties are really fantastic, nice people, nice drinks and nice prices. And great location :right in the city center. Very cool.
